  • The following appeared on 18 January 1921 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Word has been received by relatives in this city, of the death of Jacob A. Kammerer of Toronto, Ont. Mr. Kammerer contracted pheumonia and died very suddenly, while on a business trip to Cochrane, Ont.
         Mr. Kammerer was born in this city and lived here for about 25 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kammerer of Lockport street, and brother of Mrs. Margaret Borth and Mrs. Geo. W. Barnett of Buffalo, Mrs. Louis Eimer, Mrs. Charles O. Ford, Mrs. A. J. Hoffman and the late Adam Kammerer and Mrs. Oliver Young.
         Mr. Kammerer had made his home in Toronto for many years, and is survived by his widow and five daughters.

  • The following appeared on 9 July 1928 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Katherine F. Eimer, 66 years old, died in Memorial Hospital at 1 o'clock yesterday, a few hours after she had been admitted to the hospital suffering from heart disease. She had been ill only two days.
         Born February 11, 1862, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Kammerer, pioneer residents of Suspension Bridge, Mrs. Eimer lived in this city all her life. In 1883 she was married to Mr. Eimer. Mrs. Eimer was a devoted member of the Zion Lutheran church. She had a wide circle of friends throughout the city.
         Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Paul F. Eimer, and two daughters, Mrs. Louise E. Guinther and Mrs. Christie E. Cooley, all of this city. Five sisters also survive. They are, Mrs. Margaret Borth, Buffalo; Mrs. Charles O. Ford and Mrs. A. J. Hoffman, of this city; Mrs. Cornelius Frank, Devil's Lake, N. D. and Mrs. Elizabeth Barnett, of Buffalo. There are three grandchildren, George Henry and Robert Louis Cooley and John Paul Guinther, of this city.
         The funeral will be held from the family home, 422 Fifth street, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Herman Brezing of the Zion Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

  • The following appeared on 30 October 1943 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hoffman, who are shown above, recently celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage by holding "open house" at their home, 2902 Lockport road. Among those attending the celebration were two bridesmaids who attended Mrs. Hoffman at the ceremony 50 years ago. They are Mrs. L. Rieger and Mrs. C. Gaise. Also present was Mrs. George Zeager, who was a guest at the wedding.
         The rooms of the Hoffman home were beautifully decorated with flowers and the table from which lunch and punch were served by Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman's three granddaughters, Ruth Helen Bouvy and Emmy Lou and Geraldine Hoffman, was covered with lace cloth and centered with two three-tiered wedding cakes and crystal candelabra. The happy couple received many beautiful gifts in recognition of the memorable occasion.
         Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman have had 10 grandchildren and five children. Mrs. Norma Bouvy, Mrs. Dorothy Strowger, Mrs. Catherine Turner, John K. Hoffman and Henry V. Hoffman (deceased).

  • Helen Kammerer became a widow at the 3 December 1946 death of her husband.
  • The following appeared on 4 December 1946 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Albert John Hoffman, 80, of 2902 Lockport road, a retired building contractor, a member of a pioneer Niagarra county family and for many years of the Hoffman house, Lockport road and Hyde Park boulevard, died yesterday at his home after a long illness.
         Born in Porter Center, Mr. Hoffman came to Niagara Falls 65 years ago and spent the remainder of his life here. He retired several years ago.
         Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Kammerer Hoffman; four children, John K. Hoffman and Mrs. Norma Bouvy, both of this city; Mrs. Dorothy Stroger, Kenmore, and Mrs. Catherine Turner, of Portland, Ore; two brothers, Milton F. Hoffman, of this city, and Henry J. Hoffman, Plainfield, N. J., and one sister Mrs. Lillian Reiger, this city. Ten grandchildren also survive.
         Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 a. m. at the home and at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart church with interment in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

  • Helen Kammerer died on 18 March 1955 at age 88 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at Memorial Hospital.
  • She was interred at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, Niagara County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 19 March 1955 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Hoffman, 88, of 2902 Lockport Rd., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer, D.D., officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
         Mrs. Hoffman died yesterday at Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
         Born here, she had been active in community affairs and was a lifelong member of the Zion church. She resided at the above address for 43 years. Mrs. Hoffman was county tax collector for the Town of Niagara for a number of years, school tax collection and during the 1930s was chairman of the American Red Cross.
         Her husband A. J. Hoffman, predeceased her.
         Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Norma Bouvy, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Dorothy Strouger, Kenmore, and Mrs. Catherine Gleie, Portland, Ore; a son, John K. Hoffman, Lewsiton; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
         Friends may call at the Redanz Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Monday.
