  • He was employed by a brewery as a salesman, according to the 1940 census.
  • The following appeared on 11 July 1951 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: [The question:] "Where do you go to keep cool?" . . . Mrs. Otto Lenz, housewife, 147 Sprenger Ave.: "We go any place that is cool or air conditioned and sells beer. My husband is a beer salesman and that's one reason why we both like beer very much. Also, my husband was born in Germany and my parents were born there, so it's perfectly natural for us to like to get together with our friends for a few glasses. It's part of our German heritage. On a hot day there's nothing we like better than sitting down in a cool building or outdoors, if there's a breeze, and enjoying a beer."
