  • The following appeared on 3 March 1963 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Margaret F. Haeberle, 96, a member of one of this city's most prominent families, died Saturday (March 2, 1963) at her home, 3061 Lewiston Road, after a long illness.
         She was the widow of George C. Haeberle who died in 1946. Mr. Haeberle operated the Haeberle Lumber Co. and Haeberle Realty Co. The latter firm owns the Haeberle Plaza.
         Born in Niagara Falls, Mrs. Haeberle was a life-long resident. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the church's Martha Society.
         She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilhelm Styer, Coronado, Calif., and Mrs. Olin Thompson, Palo Alto, Calif., and a son, George C. Haeberle Jr. of Lewiston.
         In addition, five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
         A private funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cornell and Daggett Funeral Home. Rev. Milan Slahor, pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Lewiston, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
         The family said contributions to the American Heart Fund and the Zion Lutheran Memorial will be acceptable.
  • The following appeared on 7 April 1964 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: (Lockport) Mrs. Margaret Haeberle, left a gross estate of $108,776 when she died March 2, 1964, according to a state tax appraisal filed Monday in Surrogate's Court.
         The net taxable estate was listed as $99,933. Mrs. Haeberle was the widow of George Haeberle, founder of Haeberle Lumber Co.
         Beneficiaries listed were a son, George Haeberle Jr., Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea H. Styer of Coronado, Calif; a granddaughter, Carolyn Zettel, North Tonawanda, and the estate of another daughter, the late Charlotte H. Thompson of Palo Alto, Calif. The latter died May 19.
