  • The following appeared on 2 September 1928 in The Sunday Courier & Journal: (Vincennes, Sept. 1) A sick child probably saved the lives of the family of Alex Bouvy, who live near here, last night. Mrs. Bouvy arose about 12:30 a. m. to go to the child and discovered the house on fire. The entire kitchen and attic were in flames. Neighbors were summoned but the fire had gained too great a headway to be checked. The home was destroyed with all its furnishings.
