  • William H. McCoy and Ella F. McClintock appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska, at 709 "G" Street.
  • He was a railway dispatcher, according to the 1920 census.
  • The following appeared on 22 January 1922 in The Topeka Daily Capital: Word has been received in Topeka of the death yesterday of Mrs. Josephine Barker, 75, at her home in Manhattan. Mrs. Barker was born in Steubenville, O., and came to Kansas with her parents in 1876. They settled on a farm near Topeka. She married and moved to Topeka about twenty-five years ago, and lived here until several months ago.
         She is survived by four brothers, William H. McCoy, Fairbury, Neb; George I. McCoy, Los Angeles, Cal; John B. McCoy, Las Vegas, N. M; Daniel F. McCoy, Denver, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hanna, Russell, and Mrs. H. L. Quail, Topeka.
         Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday at Bomgardner's funeral home. Burial in Topeka cemetery.

  • The following appeared on 26 August 1932 in The Topeka Daily Capital: Mrs. Amelia B. Quail, 1219 College avenue, died early yesterday at a local hospital. She had recently fallen and broken her hip, the complications resulting in her death. She had lived in Kansas since 1876 when she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William McCoy. She married H. L. Quail in 1881. The only daughter, Blanche, died several years ago. Mrs. Quail lived in Topeka for 26 years. She was an active member of the Westminister Presbyterian church and of the Woman's club.
         Survivors are: the husband, H. L. Quail, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hanna, Russell, Kan; three brothers, William H. McCoy, Fairbury, Neb; Charles and Daniel McCoy, Santa Monica, Calif.
         Funeral services will be Monday at 2 o'clock at the Westminister Presbyterian church. Burial in Topeka Cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 18 June 1933 in the Lincoln Sunday Journal and Star: (Fairbury) Mrs. George Weiler of Indianola, Ia., came Sunday for an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCoy.
  • The following appeared on 16 June 1935 in The Lincoln Star: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCoy, residents of Fairbury for 43 years, observed their golden wedding anniversary June 12, when they held open house for their friends from 8 until 8 o'clock. A family dinner was given at six o'clock at the Mary Etta hotel for relatives and out-of-town guests including their three daughters and families: Mrs. George W. Weiler, Indianola, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Austin and daughter, Miss Jane Austin, of Beatrice; and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hackman of Lawrence, Kas. Other out-of-town guests were mrs. C. A Gregory, Chicago, Ill; Mr. H. L. Quail, Topeka, Kas; Mr. and Mrs. O. P. M. McClintock and son Morton, Topeka, Kas; Bishop E. V. Shaylor, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Shedd and Miss Rose Schramm of Beatrice.
         Mrs. McCoy is a charter member of the Fairbury Woman's club, which she helped to organize, and has been its president. Mr. McCoy is a retired Rock Island train dispatcher.
         The rooms were decorated with Ophelia roses and peonies, and the appointments were in yellow and white. One hundred and fifty were present.
  • William H. McCoy died on 2 October 1937 at age 81.
  • Ella F. McClintock became a widow at his death.
  • He was interred at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas.
  • The following appeared on 15 July 1946 in the Beatrice Daily Sun: Mrs. W. H. McCoy. Ella McClintock was born May 7, 1863 [sic], at Middletown, Ind., and was married to W. H. McCoy at Topeka Kans., June 12, 1995. The family moved to Fairbury in April, 1892, where McCoy ws employed by the Rock Island as a dispatcher until his retirement May 29, 1929.
         Mrs. McCoy was a charter member of the Fairbury Woman's club and served as its president in 1916-1917. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Weiler of Fairbury, Mrs. Wanda Austin of Beatrice and Mrs. Ethyl Hackman of Lawrence, Kansas, one brother, W. S. McClintock of Kansas City, Mo., two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
         Funeral services were held June 28th from the Immanuel Episcopal church at Fairbury with the Rev. Robert O. Reddish officiating. Burial at Topeka.
