  • The following appeared on 13 October 1905 in The Putnam County Courier: Jacob Karl went to the city Wednesday to attend the celebration of th eightieth birthday of his mother, Mrs. Sophia Karl. There was a general assembly of the family in the evening. In the afternoon Mrs. Karl and daughter, Miss Minnie, attended the wedding of Miss Kittie Goodman, who has been a frequent visitor of theirs in Carmel.
  • She married Thomas Edgar Cole, son of James H. Cole and Ellen M. Light, on 19 April 1908 in Mahopac, Putnam County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 24 April 1908 in The Putnam County Courier: Miss Minne K. Karl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Karl, was an Easter bride. She was married to Thomas E. Cole at the R. C. Rectory at Mahopac by Rev. Father Murray. The ceremony took place at one o'clock. George A. Karl, a brother of the bride, and Miss Josephine Goodman, of New York, a cousin, attended the couple.
         After the ceremony the wedding party drove back to Carmel, where a wedding feast awaited them at the bride's home, which was handsomely trimmed for the occasion. The couple took a short trip, leaving on the afternoon train for the city. The platform at the depot was crowded with friends, who were there to give the popular couple a proper sendoff.
         Mr. and Mrs. Cole came home Wednesday and are domiciled on the Dean farm at Dean Pond, owned by C. Dudley Allen.

Her brother, George Karl, made a business trip to Carmel on Friday.

  • The following appeared on 15 December 1955 in The Putnam County Courier: Mrs. Minnie Karl Smith, widow of Edward Smith, died at the New York hospital last week. Funeral services were held in New York on Saturday and interment was made in the family plot in St. Lawrence cemetery in Brewster.
         The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Karl and spent most of her life in Carmel and attended the Carmel High school. After the death of her mother several years ago, she went to New York where she had since lived.
         Surviving is one sister, Isabelle, of New York. A brother, George, died several years ago.
