  • The following appeared on 14 November 1905 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Dunning, Franklin avenue, Lockport, Saturday evening, November 11, in honor of the marriage of their son, Fred S. Dunning whose marriage to Miss Margaret G. Few occurred Wednesday at 7:30 p. m. at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Wm. Boodger of this city.
         Covers were laid for 30 guests.
         The out-of-town guests were Miss Clara Timbs, Miss Stella A. Dunning, Mrs. C. Few, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Boodger, Mr. J. R. Smith and Mr. Harold McVittie of this city; Miss Alice and Mr. John Chase of Tonawanda, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Compton, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Sinclair and Miss Clara Sinclair and Mr. George Palmer of Buffalo, Mrs. S. S. Hodgson and Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Kaufman of Eden Center, N. Y.
  • She married Fred Stephen Dunning, son of Oscar R. Dunning and Ella Louise Hodson.
  • Fred Stephen Dunning and Clara M. Timbs appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at 2420 South Avenue. Other members of the household included Frederic C. Dunning.
  • The following appeared on 23 December 1960 in the Lockport Union Sun & Journal: Services have been held in St. Petersburg, Fla., for Fred S. Dunning, a native Lockportian, who died on Dec. 21.
         Born in Lockport on March 21, 1883, Mr. Dunning spent most of his life in Niagara Falls where he was employed at Moore Business Forms. He was a past grand and a 5-year member of Niagara Falls Lodge 81, IOOF, and a member of the Church of the Redeemer, Episcopal. He moved to St. Petersburg upon his retirement several years ago.
         Mr. Dunning is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Dunning of St. Petersburg, a son, Fred C. Dunning, Niagara Falls, and two grandchildren. Burial was in St. Petersburg.

  • The following appeared on 26 October 1972 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Clara M. (Timbs) Dunning, 85, a Niagara Falls native, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Oct. 25, 1972) in Wilmington, Del, where she was a resident.
         She moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., during the 1960s, and had lived in Wilmington for the past four years.
         She was the widow of Fred S. Dunning of this city.
         Mrs. Dunning was a member of the Reddeemer Episcopal Church of this city.
         Survivors include a son, Frederick Dunning of this city; two nieces, Mrs. Muriel Craven of Wilmington, Avis Pitman of New York City; a nephew, John Pitman of Pennsylvania, and two grandchildren.
         Funeral services will be held at the McCrery Funeral Home, Wilmington, at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, this city.
         A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Niagara Falls, at a time to be announced.
         Memorial contributions to the heart fund, or St. Stephen's Episcopal Church as tribute is acceptable, the family said.
