  • The following appeared in the Helena Independent Record: Doris K. Madison, 104, of 2555 Broadway, died early Thursday at St. Peter's Hospital. She was born May 6, 1891, in Niagara Falls, NY. She attended schools back there and four years of college. She married Henry M. Madison in Jefferson City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1953. She worked as a matron for the Boulder State Hospital for 23 years. She retired at age 74. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Eagles Lodge No. 16. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick K. and Viola M. Madison; a granddaughter, Mary Lou Kruse of Boulder; seven great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Henry on Jan. 10, 1929 [and a daughter Louise Lenihan]; two sisters, Mary and Louise; three brothers, Fred, Lewis and Jacob. Cremation has taken place. Services will be announced at a later date. Hagler-Anderson Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
